Sept 12, 2007 - I’m not a cook...,
Reviewer: Christine S. (Park Rapids, MN)
I'm not a cook but when I bought the book I read it front to back.  I thought the layout was excellent and most of all I enjoyed the stories of your friends and family.  Everyone seemed so ‘real’ to me.

The recipes in this book are easy to follow and a delight to make. My family has enjoyed all that we have tried. We have also started some new family traditions after reading this book.

March 23, 2004 - Ummmm .... good
Reviewer: A reader
I recommend the garlic bread. It is more like the cheesy type, if you LOVE your Carbs this is the way to go.
Great recipes, good stories this is a must for someone who needs inspiration for the daily meal.

March 23, 2004 - Mmmmm Goooood Recipes!!
Reviewer: J.B. (South San Francisco, CA)
This is a great cookbook with easy to follow recipes and great cooking tips. The book provides substitutions for ingredients as well as what to do with "left overs" to create a new dish. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes to eat. Make sure to try the "asparagus pockets", yummmm!!

February 29, 2004 - A great read for cooks and non-cooks
Reviewer: A reader
This was a great book even if you don't love to cook...but you probably will want to try to after reading this book. The recipes are for things that everyone likes to eat and the ingredients are readily available. Even better than the recipes are the vignettes that go with them. A definite must for the cookbook collection.

Reviewer: A reader
I received this book as a gift & loved it right away. I have since given it as a gift to friends & family who rave about the recipes as well as the stories that go along with them. It is a great family book to share with anyone. The recipes are very easy to make & delicious - especially "Granny's Banana Bread" and "Gayle's Mac & Cheese". YUM!
