Tea is for Terror

The first book in the Claire Gulliver series, the reader finds Claire has agreed to co-sponsor a tour of England with her friend Lucy Springer, a well known travel writer.  The book and tour are aimed at wanna-be travelers, who have not yet made it out of the United States.  The tour will follow the books' agenda, testing the itinerary while verifying the data contained in the manuscript for the final edit.  The tour will be great publicity for the book's launch and Claire's bookstore.

So when a freak accident puts Lucy in a wheelchair only days before they're scheduled to leave and the novice travelers remain eager to proceed, Claire reluctantly agrees to lead the tour.  Of course, she is relying heavily on help from the professional tour guide who will be meeting them in London.

Join this tour as it wends through the colorful countryside of England and Wales.    Experience this trip without leaving the safety of your armchair, as strange events plague this group.  One of the travelers return home after suffering an accident, but she insists it was not an accident.  Then the shocking reality of an untimely death rocks them all.  With the trip now over half completed and the coroner's verdict rendered of "misadventure" the group agrees to continue.  The mugging in the picturesque streets of York seems just one more of a series of unreal happenings that adds to Claire's haunting dreams.  Their guide tries to convince them that travel is safe but somehow his assurance doesn't comfort Claire.

Finally, the trip finished, what's left of the tour group is back at the airport waiting for departure.  Oddly enough, despite all the problems encountered, the tour members are thrilled with the trip, eager to travel again now that they've completed their virgin journey.  But the problems are not over.  A bigger danger looms, which Claire is the only one to recognize.  She realizes that it is all up to her.  So she takes action, and then she has to take the responsibility.

Lucy never said it could be like this.
